The Comté Cheese Dairy Walk
Head out on a cheese dairy adventure to discover the region’s iconic cheese – Comté. Make your way from one cheese dairy to the next and get a taste of our terroir through delicious local produce.
The Comté cheese dairy walk deftly combines a dose of exercise with mouthwatering food. Created in 2004, it attracts some 2,000 participants and foodies of all ages and experience every year. The event is the fruit of a partnership between the CIGC (professional federation of Comté stakeholders), the intermunicipality and all the local stakeholders involved in the production of Comté cheese.
Choose any one of a selection of routes covering various distances and set out on foot, by bike or on horseback to discover the forests, lakes, peat bogs and villages in the surrounding area. And don’t forget to stop for a nibble and a sip at the cheese dairies located in Frasne, Boujailles, La Rivière-Drugeon and Courvières. We’re sure you’ll enjoy the treats as much as the friendly atmosphere!
If you want to take part, sign up online or on the day itself. The starting point is always in one of the intermunicipality’s ten villages. The event takes place every year during the summer.
